I haven't finished my story and am constantly editing it. This is all I have so far. I hope you like it! Please leave me your comments on what you think!!!

ICE COLD

Chapter One:
How many lives would I take? Is it possible for me to just stop? No, that was the answer and I knew it. I had just come into the world of the undead. My throat ached for me to quench my thirst. My new family is trying to teach me to stop. I can???t be around people. Vampires are like sharks. They can smell blood from miles away. Those old enough who want to can resist. The new born vampires, they can???t most of the time five or ten get there and drink in the human???s maroon blood. That???s why my ???adopted??? parents took me to Mount Everest, because it???s under populated.
Most vampires live there. Everyone always say that people get lost when they go hiking there, but that???s never what happens. Well, only to the lucky ones. We get to them first then they become one of us. We usually feed on the animals that roam around the mountain, but it???s not enough, it's never enough. That???s why the vampire population is dying out. Another reason is vampire hunters.

It???s nearly midnight, and that???s when my family wakes up. We are a large family and that makes it harder because everyone has to be fed at least once every two days. I am the youngest in my family, then it???s my ???brother??? Felix who???s seventeen, my actual brother Christopher who???s eighteen, then my ???sister??? Courtney. We don???t know her age but she appears to be older than my brothers and sisters. My parents are both the same age of thirty-five and after a two thousand years still in love. Most vampire couples can???t stand each other over the years to stay together. When I fall in love I've always hoped it would be as strong as theirs.
I woke up that night feeling thirsty and hoped a midnight hiker was walking by. I realized my thought and shook it away feeling guilty.
???Kate, get ready. We???re just about to hunt.??? Felix told me. I stumbled and fell trying to get off my rock shelf that was lowest on the cave wall.
???God, for a vampire you sure are clumsy.??? Chris told me chuckling. It was true. Vampires are supposed to be graceful, strong, and agile. I???m just clumsy and strong. Chris calls me the worst hazzard that ever came onto the earth.
???Stop fooling around Kate. We got up a little too late so now all the food will be devoured by the other vamps.???
I frowned and picked myself up. Courtney was such a pain in the butt. She never liked me from the start, but adored Chris. Her and her rude remarks behind my back drove me crazy. 'Someday I plan to kick her chocolate brown head all the way to outer space.' I thought crossly.
???Better late than never.??? She whispered in my ear and my ears would have turned red if I had any blood left. She had this uncanny ability to read minds, nly she could only focus in on one mind at a time. She usually chose mine to eavesdrop because I had the best thoughts to listen to,so she thought.
'Leave me alone it???s too early for this.' She heard me and stuck out her tongue. Even though she was considered older then most of us she acted like a five year old.

We crept out into the night barely making indentations in the snow as we stalked around for our prey. We found a few geese and traveled near a camp. They had to drag me away to make sure I didn???t kill them, while struggling against the urge to drink themselves. I felt terrible about wanting them so badly. Also making them stop the hunt to take care of me.
We arrived back at the cave not feeling quite satisfied. Courtney ran to me with lightning speed.
"Why can't you resist like your brother?" She hissed lowly in my ear so only I could hear her.
"Because I'm not him!" I yelled back. I despised anyone who compared me to my brother. Everyone always complained to me to be more like him. I hated it!
Me screaming at her caught everyone's attention.
All heads flashed in my direction.
"See, you can't keep calm. You can't resist. What's the use of you here? Wouldn't it be better off for all of us if you disapeared?"
Now I was shaking with anger. I had a mighty temper and when it flared nothing could stop me from doing anything. I swung my fist upward. It connected with her jaw and made a sickening crunching sound. She flew fast to the ceiling of the cave and hit the rock hard. When she came back down she landed in a clump.
I would have kicked her as far as I had had promised her earlier, but Chris got in my way.
"STOP IT!" He screamed.
I steadied myself on the wall.
Chris had never yelled at me before. I sank down to the floor and began sobbing, but the tears didn't come. They never would. I was hyperventilating. It was the habit I had when I got truely upset, when I was living.
Courtney sat up and pushed her jaw back into place. It mended in five minutes flat. Vampires are the quickest healers out of every creature in the world. She smirked at me when Chris was looking away from her and not bombarding her with 'are you okays', even though he knew vampires could feel no pain.
The rest of my family had been as quiet and as still as statues until the moment when she had smiled at me.
"Nice job. I didn't know you had it in you." Felix said, patting me on the back. A smile was forming on the edge of his lips, but he didn't show Courtney that.
My father had plastered his thinking face on and was staring blankly into space. My mom ran to Courtney and helped her up mouthing to me 'we'll talk about this later.' I knew she was going to holler at me later about what I had done to her favorite daughter.
I felt like crawling into a snow bank and never returning. 'I could make friends with other vampires and never even think about my old family.' I thought with a hint of happiness in my thoughts. Then I pictured what Christopher would think about that and how it would break his heart in two. I wished I could cry so that everyone knew how upset I was. That's one of the prices you have to pay when becoming a vampire.
Even though I had never asked to be one, I was just a victim of an uncontrolled death. My father was too thirsty and I strolled too close to where they had been hidden. I was under a trance for fifteen days doing whatever he wanted. Even though he didn't want anything. In an uncontrolled death you feel no pain and have a rip in your neck that can be patched up easily, but the price to pay is doing whatever the charmer wants you to do.
My brother was a controlled death. He loved me when we were alive and wanted to be with me when he found out what I was. I told him when he asked why I was so pale, had fangs, and a giant rip in my neck. All three which I tried to hide. Now he has two dainty teeth marks on his neck and suffered through eight days of dry ice cold torture.

Later when we had all settled down, mainly me. We all sat around and talked about the scraps of human memories we could remember. It was a family tradition, as my parents called it. The problem with it was our human memories were fading slowly, and old stories got retold. Christopher was the youngest so he always had the clearest memories. With my thoughts combined we could recite a whole day of our life.
This time he told about the fair he went to with his girlfriend. With the fireworks and the faris wheel. Right up to the part where she kissed him goodnight.
I got bored and snuck away while everyone was engrossed with the story.
I ran onto the top of the cave outside. It was covered with snow, but it was flat. The snow made it feel like a comfortable bed though. While watching the stars I drifted off to sleep wondering if I should leave my family or stay and try to cooperate.

Chapter Two:
I woke abruptly to the sound of my mother's voice. She was calling my name. I wearily rose to my feet and streached. I was covered with an inch of snow, that only revealed a side of my left shoe. It had dampened my clothes and strawberry blonde hair. I was just about to call out to her before she talked.
"You were right she ran away."
"It's for the best. She never should have stayed with us. She was a heartbreak waiting to happen." Said a high ringing voice coming from the mout of Courtney.
"You're right." My mother had said after a moment of silence. I had been praying she wouldn't say that.
"C'mon. You should go inside. I'll be in there in a moment."
I heard the sound of shuffling feet then the clack of shoes on stone.
"You heard her. I'm right. No one wants you here. It would be best if you left."
She said, speaking to me.
'Fine. If my family dosen't love me. I'll find another that will.'
With that I ran off into the night not daring to look back until I got miles away. That's where I sank into the snow and lay there for hours, wondering how life after death, could ever be this bad.
When I had finally stood up and moved on my footsteps had been hidden by the mounds of powdery snow. I had started my new voyage, just as I heard alight crunch of snow just behind me. I whipped around just as I saw a woman with light blonde hair lunge at me. I shoved her away and she propelled into the air landing lightly on the pads of her feet which had no shoes. I was tensed up ready for her to spring again.
"Who are you." She questioned not tearing her pale blue eyes away for a second.
"Same question." I told her I took a step to my left and she followed my move, keeping the connection of an invisible straight line.
She I think I Smelled her head to the side and grinned. It wasn't a menicing grin, it was more amused.
"Chloe." She said straighting up. I did the same, I had never noticed I had crouched into defensive position.
"Kate."
She relaxed and sat down. I stood standing in case she was hostile.
"You're like me aren't you?"
"Well duh, I would have never been able to throw you if I wasn't."
She laughed hard like I had said the funniest thing in the world.
I just stared in her direction not sure what to make of her. She seemed like an okay vampire, but there was something about her that told me to stay away. Was it the way her eyes gleamed whenever I talked or the fact that the no shoes made me think of her, to be savage. I kept on profiling her in my mind, barely catching the end of her sentence. I blinked.
"Sorry I wasn't listening."
She smiled slyly and repeated,
"You seem to be on your own. I don't want you to feel like that. Come back to my place with my partner and I. Stay for dinner if you like."
I should have said no, but there was a nagging hunger in the pit of my stomach that made me say yes. She dashed off and I had to sprint to keep up with her. As I trailed her all the way her place I kept wondering weather she should be trusted.
