my hobbies and a short story of my life

I am 15 years old and I like doing anything the average teenager does. my favourite things to do are drawing and shopping!

The only difference is that I have not had a happy life before the last few years. At the age of 6 I acquired a very rare form of cervical cancer. Only about 8 people in every million have it in the whole of the UK. (That???s about 480 people in the whole of the UK that have this form of cancer.)
I went through 5 years of my life in hell. I had to have injections and stuff every day. Everyone thought I was really weird. Even in school I had my own nurse. Every hour I had to have a series of 3 injections, it was absolute hell.
On top of that, my mum had a baby, my little sister, who is now 7. My father had left us when my mother was pregnant with my sister and my mother died when giving birth. We were put into a care home near my school as we had no other relatives. The government thought that it would be better is my sister went to a different care home as she was so young. I begged the council to let us stay together, my sister was the only person I had left in my life. Eventually a woman named Susie (who owned a care home a few miles away from my school) offered to take us both in. The council still weren???t sure but then my nurse stepped in (Cheryl) and said that it would be better if we stayed together. She had been like a second mother to me. Eventually Cheryl convinced everyone that us staying together was the best option.
I continued having operations to try and cure me of this cancer but no one had created a cure yet. Finally in 2006 a very clever doctor thought he had created a cure for the illness. It was an operation that could go two ways; it could either kill me or cure me. Myself and Cheryl went through several months debating this operation; she told me that it was completely up to me. I decided to have it. It went the right way and I was cured! But this wasn???t the end of my hell yet. I still had to continue having injections and check-ups every day. Finally in 12 months time, it was revealed that I was completely cured!! I didn???t have to have any more injections and my life was back to normal. I was so happy! But the bad thing was that I lost Cheryl: she had been like a second mother to me and I cried for days. Susie was in despair. She eventually got back in touch with Cheryl and arranged for us to meet up again. I still keep in touch with her now and my sister loves her too. I???d love to say thanks to Susie and Cheryl, I love them like my own parents. Thanks so much for everything you have done! xx
