So my birthday is Monday (October 13), and I gotta say, I'm not sure I want to turn 21. I mean, it's better than any other option, obviously, but I still feel like I should be younger. I like not being a teenager anymore, and I like the independence, but still... It's making me feel like I'm supposed to be a grown-up prematurely. Does this make sense at all? I guess I'm just too contemplative right now...

So I know I posted something similar before(see tips on getting along with me), but a new circumstance came to my attention today.

Here's what happened: I was looking on the price check forum, and Guy1 had posted that he was auctioning his gallery. Guy2 came in and bid 500k. So Guy1 maramailed Guy2 about the sale. Guy2 promptly said that he didn't like getting mailed about stuff like this, and blocked Guy1 and retracted his offer. Guy2 had nothing in his profile that said he didn't like maramail about sales, and he gave no warning message at all before he blocked Guy1. Now, while this is in no way against the rules, I believe that it's downright rude.

Advice to people who don't like sellers/buyers maramailing them: Post something on your profile about it. Seriously. And give a warning message before you block. Sometimes they just hit the maramail icon under your reply and don't see your profile. People can't read your mind. Just either reply or post on the topic that you don't wish to receive maramail about it (it might actually work better if you do both, that way the person knows, and others on the forum will know as well). You don't have to be rude, either. A nice "I really don't like to receive maramail about buying and selling stuff, but I'll reply on the topic" would work fine. Direct, gets the point across, and is still polite. Politeness in stuff like this gets you a lot more than rudeness. If in the future you ever want to buy from or sell to that person again, they may not want to do business with you if you're rude. And politeness also makes for a much happier world here in mara. It makes for a much happier world in the real world as well.

When selling to me: If I'm offering to buy your item, and we're haggling, don't just go up on the price without consulting me. Example: If I offer 400k, and you want 450k, the next message you send to me relaying this information should be something like "I'm really looking for 450k. If you'd agree with that, I'd be happy to sell." Firm, effective, doesn't sound like a demand. DON'T mail me with "It's in trades, but bid 450k." This is a demand. If I've offered 400k, I may or may not be willing to pay 450k. This is my choice to make. If you don't like my price, you don't have to sell. That's your choice. There is, however, a difference between this and haggling. I'm perfectly fine with haggling. You want a certain price for your item, that's wonderful. I sell too, so I understand when you want a certain amount of mp. But don't demand and try to make it sound like I have no choice. And if we've already come to an agreement on price (meaning that haggling is over, we've both said that this price works for us), please don't raise the price again. Yes, you're helping me out by selling the item to me, but I'm helping you out by buying it, too. Therefore, neither of us is in a position to order the other around or to suddenly change the deal when it's already been decided. If we can't come to an agreement, the sale doesn't happen, and neither of us benefit. We're on equal ground here, so please don't try to act like one of us is superior.

When buying from me: Once more, I'm fine with haggling, but please don't demand. Sometimes I am flexible with price, sometimes I want a certain price that I won't go below. Saying something like "I'm really only wanting to spend 250k for this item" will get you a lot further with me than saying "I'll buy, but put it down to 250k." It just doesn't work like that. As said before, it's my choice to sell to you. It's also your choice to buy. Equal ground, remember. By the way, if I'm standing firm on a price, begging will not help. At all.

When I give out presents: DO NOT ask me for a more expensive item. If I mail you about it, saying that I'll buy you anything you want as long as it's under 15k, don't message me back asking me to raise this price. I'm getting you a present. You should be grateful. I'm not asking you to get down on your hands and knees and worship me. I'm just asking you to remember that I'm not required to do this at all. This isn't me being greedy or stingy by not buying you a more expensive present, this is me using the mp that I worked hard for to be nice to you. When you ask for more like that, it tells me that you don't appreciate it at all.

When just mailing me in general: Please be polite. I don't mean that you should call me Ms. or anything. I just mean that you should be respectful of the fact that I have a point of view and feelings as well. Don't order me around or ask me to send you stuff out of nowhere or things like that. We can talk to each other as equals without being rude, can't we?

Ok guys, pretty much all of you have seen this one about the wingdings/terrorist attacks. Here's another view of it, though. For reference purposes, I have to quote the original thing, but if you've seen it so many times you have it memorized, go ahead and skip to the end.

This is actually really freaky!
(mainly the end part, but read it all
first)

1) New York City has 11 letters.
2) Afghanistan has 11 letters.
3) Ramsin Yuseb (The terrorist who
threatened to destroy the Twin Towers
in 1993) has 11 letters.
4) George W Bush has 11 letters.

This could be a mere coincidence, but
this gets more interesting:
1) New York is the 11th state.
2) The first plane crashing against
the Twin Towers was flight number 11.
3) Flight 11 was carrying 92
passengers..9 + 2 = 11
4) Flight 77 which also hit Twin
Towers , was carrying 65 passengers..6
+ 5 = 11
5) The tragedy was on September 11, or
9/11 as it is now known..9 + 1 + 1 =
11
6) The date is equal to the US
emergency services telephone number
911..9 + 1 + 1 = 11

Sheer coincidence..?!
Read on and make up your own mind:

1) The total number of victims inside
all the hi-jacked planes was 254..2 +
5 + 4 = 11
2) September 11 is day number 254 of
the calendar year..again 2 + 5 + 4 = 11
3) The Madrid bombing took place on
3/11/2004..3 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 4 = 11
4) The tragedy of Madrid happened 911
days after the Twin Towers incident.

Now this is where things get totally
eerie:
The most recognized symbol for the US,
after the Stars & Stripes, is the
Eagle.

The following verse is taken from the
Quran, the Islamic holy book:
'For it is written that a son of
Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle.
The wrath of the Eagle would be felt
throughout the lands of Allah while
some of the people trembled in despair
still more rejoiced: for the wrath of
the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah
and there was peace..'

That verse is number 9.11 of the Quran.

Still unconvinced about all of this..?!
Try this and see how you feel
afterwards, it made my hair stand on
end:

Open Microsoft Word and do the
following:

1.) Type in capitals Q33 NY. This is
the flight number of the first plane to
hit one of the Twin Towers.
2.) Highlight the Q33 NY.
3.) Change the font size to 48.
4.) Change the actual font to the
WINGDINGS.

freaked out yet?

OMG! An airplane crashing into the two towers becomes the death of...Judaism? Wait...what do the Jews and the star of David have to do with the twin towers? Nothing! And...didn't you just say that the first plane that crashed into the towers was 11, not Q33 NY? And by the way, verse 9.11 of the Quran has nothing to do with the "wrath of the Eagle" or anything with Eagles at all. If you're still convinced there's something freaky going on with the number 11, though, check out what a wonderful man named Dave Pawson wrote:

"Oh my God! How worried should I be? There are 11 letters in the name "David Pawson!"
I'm going into hiding NOW. See you in a few weeks.

Wait a sec ... just realized "YOU CAN'T HIDE" also has 11 letters! What am I gonna do?
Help me!!! The terrorists are after me! ME! I can't believe it! Oh crud*, there must
be someplace on the planet Earth I could hide! But no ... "PLANET EARTH" has 11 letters, too!

Maybe Nostradamus can help me. But dare I trust him? There are 11 letters in "NOSTRADAMUS."
I know, the Red Cross can help. No they can't... 11 letters in "THE RED CROSS," can't trust
them. I would rely on self defense, but "SELF DEFENSE" has 11 letters in it, too! Can
someone help? Anyone? If so, send me email. No, don't... "SEND ME EMAIL" has 11 letters....

Will this never end? I'm going insane! "GOING INSANE???" Eleven letters!! Nooooooooooo!!!!!!

I guess I'll die alone, even though "I'LL DIE ALONE" has 11 letters.....

-- Dave

PS: America itself is doomed! Our Independence Day is July 4th ... 7/4 ... 7+4=11!

PPS: "HORSE MANURE*" has 11 letters also, so don't bother to tell me what this is."

Oh, by the way guys...Some of the numbers of passengers are wrong too. I wouldn't put too much stock in this.
Any comments? Feel free to mail me. I'd love to know that people are actually reading this instead of just going with the original ideas about this.
