God is always with us

30th Dec 2008 22:34 These are stories that prove that God is always with you, even when you can't see Him.
There was a boy. The boy was kind of nerdy. He was short and thin, and wore his pants too high. He wore thick glasses and read a lot. All the same, the boy wanted to be in the marines. So he went and was sent to an army camp.
Now, he was NOT the most popular person there. The other people there picked on him a lot. He payed a lot of attention when their instructor taught them, though the other students shot spitballs at him and whatnot. And they were hurtful with their words.
One day, one of the boy's peers thought of an awesome prank. Soon the everybody in the army camp knew of it but the boy who they were pranking.
The first boy had managed to snitch a fake grenade. One day outside, he would pull the pin and throw the fake grenade into the crowd. They would all run and scatter, and the nerdy boy would freak out!
So, the next day, the prankster pulled the pin from the faux grenade. Then he yelled, "Live grenade!" and hurled it as hard as he could.
All of the other students screeched and shouted and ran. But when they eagerly spun 'round to see the boy who they were pranking, he was crouching over the fake grenade, shielding it with his body, and yelling, "Run! Run! Run!"
Everything grew very quiet.
Later, the prankster boy asked the first boy, "Why did you do that? You didn't know it was fake. You would have died."
The other boy was quiet for awhile.
Finally he replied, "Well, Jesus died for me. Jesus was crucified, which means that his hands and feet were nailed to a big wooden pole. He sufficated. Jesus was God's own Son, and he died because it erased our sins. If he didn't do that, then when we died, we would be dead. That's all. But when Jesus, the Christ, did that, he saved us. If we beleive in Him, then we can go to heaven. Jesus loves us more than anything in the world, and his Father, God, loves us too. We mean more to him than anybody else."
The prankster thought about this for a long time.
Finally, he said a clunky, hesitant prayer to God. The boy who he had pranked had told him that praying was just talking to God, and that God heard every word that we spoke. He had said that God knew when we were awake or asleep, our every thought, and that He even knew our every blink.
Soon, the prankster asked God to save him, too.
And God did, because he was a gracious and loving God, and he even loved a sinner like that boy, just as he does each and every one of us.
There was a very old man. HIs name was George. He was 85 and had served in Vietnam. His wife had passed away last year. It was Christmastime, and he was lonely.
Every day, George sat on the bench at Wal-mart in front of cash register 5. He was amazed at how many packages each family bought. If there was only one child in the family, they would have mountains of dolls and littlest pet shops and bionicles and Star Wars action figures and video games and cell phones. George grew sadder and sadder every day. Soon he was very depressed at the greediness of the world. He remembered when he was a child, when he and his brother and sister got one orange for Christmas out of a whole bag of Florida oranges. But it didn't matter, because Christmas was a family time.
One day, a black family came in. There was a pretty mother with dimples, and a bald father with twinkling eyes. They had two tiny children, a boy and a girl, who were very well behaved. They held onto the cart and did everything that their parents told them to do. George watched them for a time. Eventually they came to the checkout isle with their mountain of toys. George watched them unload toy after toy after toy after toy after toy. With a heavy heart, George decided that he had seen enough and stood up.
As old people do, he moved slowly, and soon the black family passed him. George slowly made his way out. The doors slid open for him. The first thing that he noticed was the black family, who had stopped. They reached into their shopping cart and took out a package, which they put into a box labled in big black letters, 'TOYS FOR TOTS'. George walked over to them and tapped the father on his shoulder. He had learned, as an old person, that he was allowed to. The father turned around. George looked at him quizzically, then finally said, "Why did you do that?" The man replied simply, "Jesus." Finally George smiled. This man had reminded him that people were good, and that not everybody had to be greedy and sinful. "Thank you." George said, lifting his hand and touching the man's face, his eyes swimming with gratitude. "You put the 'Christ' back in 'Christmas' for me." "Merry Christmas," the man called. George's face broke into a broad grin. The man had said Merry Christmas, not Happy Holidays or Happy Hanukkah, or any new phrase. He had said, 'Merry Christmas.'
George walked away whistling, with a skip in his step. 'Merry Christmas.'
A girl went to a party and she ended up staying longer than planned, and had to walk home alone. She wasn't afraid because it was a small town and she lived only a few blocks away. As she walked along under the tall elm trees, Diane asked God to keep her safe from harm and danger. When she reached the alley, which was a shortcut to her house, she decided to take it. However, halfway down the alley she noticed a man standing at the end as though he were waiting for her.
She became uneasy and began to pray, asking for
God's protection. Instantly a comforting feeling of quietness and security wrapped round her, she felt as though someone was walking with her. When she reached the end of the alley, she walked right past the man and arrived home safely. The following day, she read in the newspaper that a young girl had been in the same alley just twenty minutes after she had been there and had been raped and murdered brutally. Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact that it could have been her, she began to weep. Thanking the Lord for her safety and to help this young woman, she decided to go to the police station. She felt she could recognize the man, so she told them her story. The police asked her if she would be willing to look at a lineup to see if she could identify him. She agreed and immediately pointed out the man she had seen in the alley the night before.
When the man was told he had been identified, he immediately broke down and confessed. The officer thanked Diane for her bravery and asked if there was anything they could do for her. She asked if they would ask the man one question. Diane was curious as to why he had not attacked her. When the policeman asked him, he
answered, "Because she wasn't alone. She had two tall men walking on both sides of her."
Amazingly, whether you believe or not, you're never alone. Did you know that 98% of teenagers will not stand up for God? Re-post this if you truly believe in God..
God is always there in your heart and loves you no matter what.
"If you deny me in front of your friends, I shall deny you in front of my Father"
That's in the Bible. It means that if we don't stand up for Him when we have the chance, why should He stand up for you when it is time to choose who goes to heaven or to hell? Jesus wants you to go to heaven, but he can't break the rules! Beleive in Him!
STAND UP FOR HIM!!
The boy in the army camp could have easily not told the prankster about God. The black man didn't have to give his toys to Toys for Tots, and he didn't have to tell George that he did it for and because of Jesus. The girl didn't have to pray when she was walking home from the party.
98% won't post this
are you part of the 2% that will?
