Buddy

My special boy.

You are forever loved and greatly missed.

I got Buddy from a military family in 2010, when I was just in the 9th grade. I could have never known then just how much of my life this sweet boy would become a part of.

Buddy was there for every major milestone. He was there when i started high school, watched me graduate high school, graduate college, and grow into the person I am today. He was there through several mediocre relationships before I finally found my husband. He saw me through the good times, the hard times, and all the moments in between.

Through it all, Buddy never needed anything complicated. He was happiest simply being around the people he loved. He loved everyone he met and had a way of making friends wherever he went. All of my friends loved him, and it was impossible not to.

He was just an absolutely incredible dog.

Buddy wasn't simply my first Border Collie. He was my companion, my constant, and one of the most important pieces of my life. He grew up with me, and in so many ways, he helped me grow up too.

On July 5, 2023, we had to say goodbye to my special boy. We made sure he was surrounded by love and by all of his important people when it was time for him to go.

There is so much I could say about the years we shared, but no words will ever truly explain what Buddy meant to me.

He was there from the beginning of so many chapters of my life, and a part of me will always miss having him beside me.

Buddy, thank you for growing up with me. Thank you for loving me through every version of myself. Thank you for being my dog, my friend, and such a special part of my life.

You were deeply loved while you were here, and you will be deeply loved for the rest of my life.
