The JakePup ❤️❤️❤️
Jake was adopted by our family in 2012, and was loved til his final days. He loved playing with toys, sticks, and getting bum rubs! He had a loud bell on his collar so he could run around his big backyard and always be heard no matter where he was! So anyone could tell if Jakey was near, from his loud excited barks and his jingly bell ❤️ He had one white leg that people always thought was a cast, but was actually just his coloring as a Portuguese water dog! Funnily enough though, he never loved swimming or the water too too much. But our family is half Portuguese, so he was a perfect fit no matter what and was always the pup for us.
When he was older, he tore one of his ACLs and had it repaired, which helped limping significantly! But unfortunately he tore his other one, and while on a family trip he fell and broke his leg, which led to the discovery that not only had he torn the ACL in that leg, but the reason he broke it (his femur!) was that he had cancer :( Jake had his hurt leg amputated and became a tripod for the remainder of his short life, and lived 3 more months, joyful and still running (as fast as he could on 3 legs!) the rest of his days. He slowed down to enjoy the breeze and the little things, like a sunset, snoozing with his fam, and the breeze through his fur. He was the bestest boy, and will never be forgotten.
