The first phase of our major Character upgrade has been completed. Our dolls are over 10 years old now and were created in flash. A lot has changed since then and flash is pretty much dead - even YouTube has stopped using it! For us this was a major issue, as flash doesn't load on mobiles or tablets. It has also got slower and more unstable for desktop users too. Characters have switched to PNG images in all parts of the site now and you should already noticed a huge difference in the speed of the site.
There are a few changes. Shops and galleries can no longer have a different experience than profiles. Animated clothing or experiences are static now. If you play Marapets on desktop, flash will still be used at the Lush Fountain and Wardrobe previews. The next phase is the revamp of the Male Doll. We have been busy redrawing and fixing all male clothes. Yesterday we completed 434 male clothes - officially half way done!
The Gonk and Equilor can now wear the Space Fairy Costume. The Equilor and Troit can now wear the Toddler Costume.
We completed a Server Update yesterday without any downtime. For those interested, we have installed Railgun - this cuts down on bandwidth, transfer time, and overall page load times. Railgun caches these differences in memory to make page processing as fast as possible. Marapets now runs even faster than before - we hope you noticed the changes!
The Agatha, Capone, Edwina, Nimble, Sneaky and Tokem can now wear the Ball of Moonlight Yarn.

The Toddler Costume was first released in May 2007 in Account Upgrades and the costume has been retired and forgotten about ever since. A new version of the Toddler Account Upgrade has been released, with 8 new toddler themed items and either a Toddler coloured Vlad or Reese Enchanted Plushie. This set also includes a retired Toddler Costume, so this AU will retire earlier than normal, in less than 3 weeks, on August 10th.
The Chibs, Huthiq, Mordo, Reese and Yuni have been updated and are now wearing the new version of the Toddler Costume.

A glitch a couple of years ago with Pet Exchange meant that many players of the site have 13 pets - even though the maximum amount of pets is 12. We have have increased the default maximum number of pets to 13 to fix this once and for all. For all of your OCD players out there, we have increased the Extra Pet Giftbox too so to make it a max of 56 pets - 14 rows....
A new daily has been released in Candyland. Welcome to the world's largest Jelly Castle. This is Gelatin, the Huthiq who built the castle. He spends 23 hours a day making Jelly for his castle to get even bigger. Look at his eye, he's exhausted!
You can visit his Jelly Castle once a day for 300MP and if you're lucky, Gelatin will let you try some. Gelatin sleeps for one hour a day, every day, at a different time each day. Use your one visit a day for when he is sleeping and you can walk away with one of these 34 new jelly items. Visit while he is sleeping and one of yours will get to sample his jelly.
Remember it is against the rules to lie to other players about when Gelatin is sleeping.
Just a reminder that the Summer Treasure Chest will automatically retire at midnight Marapets time.
Time to wrap up the Pool Party Event. All this partying seems to be infectious - Minipet Island has positively EXPLODED with new life and colour! All features in Foxfire Forest are now open to all players and the new Minipet Island map is live for everyone. We hope you like the changes! Fishing has moved from Jenoa to Minipet Island.

Our 20th Mission has been released in Foxfire Forest. The Beast In The Woods mission has been released for those who have woken him up in the pool party event - everyone else will be able to use him from midnight tonight! Every fairytale must have it's villain, and the inhabitants of the Foxfire Forest swear that there is none so foul, so villainous, so cruel and bloodthirsty as the Beast In The Woods. Some claim he is a wolf, others swear that is an Ogre, or perhaps something from some darker, forgotten part of Marada. The Beast longs for shiny things - Fake Dukka Coins and Minerals.
Finish all 30 levels of the Beast In The Woods mission and win a limited edition Astro pet. You can win either Enchanted Astro Plushies or Potions.

The Fasoro pet has been updated. He has had many failed changes over the years that we were never happy with and neither were most players. We've gone back to basics with the original Fasoro style. As the original Fasoro is 11 years old already, this new update is here to stay and will not be changed again. We will fix most of the oldest costumes for Fasoro and give them lots more costumes. We hope you like the changes!
A new feature has been released in Foxfire Forest. This feature is only avaliable to players who wake it up during the Pool Party. The event ends at midnight tonight and everything in Foxfire Forest will be avaliable for all players. Buried deep beneath Foxfire Forest is a series of mineral-filled natural caverns. The minerals here have incredible untapped magical power. If you have the right mining tools, you can try Mining one for yourself! Each mining tool has a different percentage that they'll be successful in digging up any minerals and each item has a different percentage that they will break when you go mining. Once you successfully mine a mineral you will have a time out before you can try again.
