Rather than commenting in the forum, my first thought is to send you a maramail. Since that's no longer possible, here we are. How was your Hawaii trip? What did you do? How did your dogs react when you got home? How are they doing?

Things have been going awry one after the other for the last few months, so life feels hectic. You leaving Mara kind of fit in with that theme. The year of the snake will bring a lot of change which is always difficult. Hope you're doing well.

Well, I've decided that the Labyrinth isn't worth it at all since the Charms and Voodoo Dolls shops barely stock. It would be bad enough if they stocked and I was spending RP/BP to go back and forth between levels and failing most of the time. But since I burned through my stockpile of charms and dolls and can never buy any unless it's overpriced items from user shops, it's not worth it. I wanted to at least get past level 57 of Eleka Castle goals (yes, more levels were recently added - yay!) but I'm not spending 1.5mil for a charm I need for a 10% chance of making the goal after failing three times in a row. So maybe next year. I'll just keep hoarding magnets, codes and ransoms until I can get charms and voodoo dolls again.

Sixteen new tattoos were released in various shops around Marada on the 9th, and now 17 new items were released in the tattoo shop today. Kind of makes that year of grinding Wonky for tattoos for Lowlyhood goals seem like a total waste of effort. Of course, when new items come into a shop, the shop stops stocking at all, so good luck to those trying to buy anything. Maybe in several months.

Anyway, Ian commented that there will be more face makeup and really, more of everything being released later in the year so I think I'll put Lowlyhood goals off until next year instead of wasting Wonky on trying to get all the retired stuff. I've learned my lesson with the tattoos. I don't have a lot of time to play so I have to save Wonky to accomplish things that wouldn't be possible otherwise. *Edit from my future self: the Shimmer face and eye make ups don't count towards the goals so I guess I have a lot of Wonky to do still.

It is exciting that goals are expanding and I'm hoping there will be more rewards for pet stats coming. Glad to see all the updates lately. Mara is still my favorite escape aside from Kdrama. ^_^ Wish you were here. Hope you're having a fulfilling time whatever you are doing.

We're in the middle of a glitched weather event and I was just thinking about how you left the site right as they were adding a whole bunch of new stuff. Seeing as how much time I'm spending on this, maybe you made a smart choice! But I wish you had left your account active so I could at least send you stuff.

Totally unrelated, but I was playing Extract Enpiah and I think they should make another gift box for it that gives you double the moves. Most times I play, I have four moves and don't get any more. Way too little.

Anyway, the Easter Egg Hunt is coming up and you're going to miss it. But I hope you are having lots of fun out there in the real world!

This month has been so busy! I think I'm a bit burnt out from the Easter perks. I took advantage of the free education/training for too many of my pets and though it's awesome to level them up, it somehow tires me out.

Ian launched Gumballs Galore with a creative event and I've been having fun launching gumballs and discovering planets when I should be getting things done. Haha.

I've been launching gumballs like crazy and have 314 in orbit right now. There are 121,454 gumballs on the launch log so far. That means an average of 386 people have launched a similar amount. Probably a few over achievers have launched way more. I wonder where I am in the rankings.

Anyway, I'm ready for the solar flare to wrap up. The chances of discovering a planet have noticeably decreased in the last few days and instead of a dopamine hit, I'm getting disappointed and tired. It would have been better to start off with sparce discoveries and have it slowly increase as the event goes on to build momentum instead of slowing it. Ah well, I'm still playing, aren't I? Is this self loathing I feel?

On May 19th it was announced that pets who completed university courses would receive one of several new globes. This renewed my enthusiasm and I threw all of my pets into Uni. Unfortunately, many of them need three days to finish a course and the solar flare ended two days later so... that was a bit disappointing.

On the plus side, the event is over and we now have low gravity. Wonder what that will entail. It would be cool if level 20 astronauts had some type of advantage, but I know that is not going to happen.

One Eye, my blind chicken, passed away today. She had been having respiratory issues lately and we treated it with antibiotics, but it never quite went away. She bounced back for awhile and was eating well, but then lost her appetite again. This morning she died in my arms and while I'm happy for her, I'm sad for me!

The event was really taxing. I'm totally burnt out. I'm barely doing dailies at this point. I think I'm burnt out with life in general too. On top of that, Mercury is retrograde until August 11. Things have been going wrong one after another. Today our neighbor's dog came into our yard chasing chickens, which caused my pig to run away. It's now 8:45pm and he's still not back. Even when hunting dogs came and chased him one day months ago, he was back within an hour. It's been six hours, he's missed dinner, and it's dark. I'm 90% sure he's okay and will be back in the morning. But my mind keeps wondering if he somehow got trapped somewhere, if he's hurt, if he ran too far and ended up on the hunter's farm, if someone has him, if someone killed him... We've looked all over the area, and that's all we can do for now. Stressing won't help the situation at all, but I can't seem to stop. His friends came back. The pig with the hurt leg came back almost immediately and wanted me to comfort him. The baby girl was back a little later. They both had dinner and hung out before bed. But my bratty boy is just gone.

Well, as I predicted, my pig came back the next day and everything went back to normal. But now my cat has cancer. Can we catch a break? I guess not. Her foot swelled up to about 3x the normal size and the vet expected it to be an abscess. He has never seen such a large cluster of tumors on top of a paw before, so my cat is very special. -_- He recommends amputating at the shoulder. The bill just for finding this information out was over $2k. We did get a big discount, but still, there is no way we can afford an amputation, and I don't want to put my cat through that. The floors in our house aren't even level! Dogs come hunting in our yard often enough that I don't think it will be safe for her with only three legs. And there's no guarantee that the cancer won't be back in another part of her body requiring more cutting. Ugh, no thanks. Two years ago she had a liver infection and the vet could not tell my why or how she got it. But it cost about $5k to treat her and I had hoped that she wouldn't have any problems the rest of her life because she had broken our bank. Now this. We are just going to give her the best life possible until she starts to suffer. Right now she can still run and jump with her huge paw and it doesn't seem to bother her too much. The concern is the speed at which it is growing may not give us much time with her. But miracles can happen and if it just stops growing, she can live like this for a long time. She's only seven. Life continues to be brutal.

The birthday event is well underway and I wonder what you're doing with all the free time you have now that you are not clicking around the site and gathering seconds to spend at the birthday party! I think I've been too exhausted for my heart to really be in it, but I've been accumulating 300 seconds every three days or so and if I don't get the TC at the end, well that's just how it goes.

My pig has had a poopy butt for the last two days. I think it's from overeating because there are some late season breadfruit dropping from the trees. He is over 400 pounds now and still growing. He has been rather clingy and wanting to lay in bed with me a lot, so I've had to clean up poopy bedding as well as his poopy butt. This is the story of my life. There are a few creative projects I should be working on, but I have no energy.

I forgot to buy the Puny Pyramid map in July so I'm stuck on Kamilah Desert goals. In my opinion, since they are charging 25AU for all the maps now, they should just have them all available anytime in a map store. It just makes me lose interest and forget about doing goals when I have to wait months with no progress. Maybe I'm just getting tired of it all.

I finally passed the 175 Face Makeup Colour mission for Lowlywood goals. When I get to level 44, I'll just need one Eye Makeup Colour. Maybe I'll have gotten it from Wonky by then. The big problem will be when I get to level 58. I need 30 more Swim Wear items and they're all 4M and up.

I'm so stressed out right now. My cat's cancer has been progressing. Her paw is swollen like a puffer fish and now she has an open sore on it where they did the biopsy. I tried to put ointment on it and she got mad and ran away for a night. My mom has been looking at testimonials from people who have had good results from Ivermectin. If we don't calculate the dosage correctly, she could go blind, fall into a coma, etc. I've messaged the vet a couple of times regarding medication for the pig with the broken foot, but ever since I turned down their offer to amputate my cat's leg, they haven't been answering my messages. So I don't know. We'll see what happens.

My other stress is that I have to update the SSL for my therapist's website, but he waited until the day before it expires before telling me. It's such a convoluted, complex process and during the process, they sent a file to his email. I called and left a voicemail for him to forward it to me. I sent him three emails in the last three hours. No answer. I swear, we go through this every year, and every year it is such a struggle and I always have to get help from customer service. I don't know why they make it so complicated. Initially I set up my therapist's website on a super easy platform where you don't have to deal with any of this stuff and even he could easily update it. But he insisted that he wanted a WordPress site so I learned how to put it together and did that. But the SSL expires every year and the process is slightly different each time so I'm looking at my screenshots wondering what the heck. Anyway, it's so stressful that it's actually distracting me from the despair I'm feeling about my cat. I hope that I can get it done before it expires. *sigh*

Well, the SSL issue got cleared up. Customer service informed me that the Wordpress package comes with a free SSL so I don't need to keep reissuing the other one. But now that I've gotten rid of one headache, I have another. I write all of my passwords in a notebook and for some reason, the password to my main email account is not working. To request a change of password, I need to receive a code by phone. The phone number I have on my account is a land line that they always sent a recorded message to in the past, but apparently they only send text messages now. That is a problem. I'm looking into subscribing to a text to voice service, but I'm wondering why the heck my password isn't working. Maybe I changed it and didn't update my notebook. I'm actually signed into my account on my computer so as long as my computer doesn't die, I haven't lost my account yet. Life is hard enough, I don't know why these insidious little problems keep sneaking in.

Tomorrow will be the third week of Ivermectin treatment for my cat. I think it's doing something, because some of the tumors in her open wound actually fell out and her wound isn't oozing so much anymore. We're spraying it with colloidal silver and hoping for the best. She's losing weight, but still eating a little fish as long as we make it soupy. I've started administering the CBD for pain relief transdermally in her ears because she's a bit inconsistent about eating so I can't be sure if she's ingested the proper dosage. It seems to be working.

I hope a month from now I can write that my cat is recovering well, and that I was able to change my email password and everything worked out.

A lot has happened this month. First of all, I was able to change my email password only because I was already signed in. Since I was not able to receive the code via phone, they disabled the two step verification and sent an email to me allowing me to change my password after 48 hours. If I hadn't been logged in, I wouldn't have been able to access that email and would have lost my account, so I guess that was my miracle for the year.

In other news, my cat passed away. In the end, she meowed twice and I rushed over to hold her. She went peacefully in my lap and we buried her next to my blind hen's grave.

Then yesterday, one of my favorite roosters died. A young upstart who I've been chasing away ended up beating him up. I think he may have had a concussion. Anyway, I set up a cage to keep him safe and was out there beside him when I think he heard the other rooster walking back toward us and he flipped out. When I grabbed him, I could already feel that his soul was leaving his body. I don't know if it was a heart attack, brain hemorrhage, or he was already on his way out and coincidentally had his death throes at that moment, but he went quickly. It was a very sad time.

I'm trying to catch that upstart rooster to relocate him because he also beat up our gentle patriarch rooster who now stays on the porch and in the pig enclosure for his safety. We only allow the gentle roosters to stay. A little bit of sparring to determine social position is okay, but it's unacceptable when one keeps beating the other when they've given up and tried to run away.

The past month has been a tough one. Then the Maraween events started and I found it impossible to get any of the rare items. Those drops were very rare and I kind of gave up out of exhaustion. I hope you had a nice Halloween.

I relocated that nasty rooster and now our old patriarch is much happier and hanging out with the hens again. I was so relieved.

And then I got sick. I get sick maybe once every ten years. I don't know what it is, but it involves a lot of coughing and headaches. At one point I thought I might've had an aneurysm. It's going into the third week now and as long as I stay still and quiet, and don't eat or drink anything, I don't cough much. But of course I'm trying to flush this thing out by drinking lots of fluids and vitamins, etc. And it's impossible to stay still when there are so many animals to take care of. But I'm getting better little by little.

Hurricane season is almost over and then we'll be replacing the tarp on the roof. The house continues to fall apart and we're trying to figure out how to do spot repairs just to keep it together. I think it'd be easier to demolish it and bring in some converted shipping containers. Probably cheaper too. We'll see what happens.

Also, a gecko just pooped on me. Rude.

Just as I got rid of my cough, we had a housing inspection with one day's notice. We cleaned up just enough that it looked like we didn't clean at all, but we're not total slobs. Haha. Basically I scrubbed off all the mud my pig had rubbed against the cabinets and door frame.

While the house is falling apart, it's not so bad that they had to evict us, but they are making a plan to do repairs so I guess a carpenter or contractor will probably be out soon to assess the situation. I'm a little worried that the pigs will be stressed and displaced since they sleep under the house and I don't know what the work is going to entail. Hopefully things will happen in sections so we can still use the house. Even if we build a temporary structure for the pigs, they probably won't use it as they are extremely resistant to change.

One winter, a whole herd of pigs started taking shelter under our house and we were worried they would damage the already termite eaten beams so we fenced them out and built a shelter next to the house that was of similar height to the space under our house. Even luring them in there with food, they refused to use it. When they couldn't squeeze under the fence, they started going elsewhere to get out of the rain; I have no idea where. Why didn't they just use the shelter we spent a lot of effort building? They don't adapt well. Over the years, the shelter fell apart and we ended up salvaging materials to use on other parts of the farm so we no longer have that option.

So I don't know how our pigs will cope, but I'm just going to manifest a smooth transition and believe that everything will work out perfectly.

lovelucy messaged me today after seeing the notice I have for you on my profile. She let me know that she is another mara friend who misses you, and I'm sure there are many more! Hopefully one day you will see the notice as well. In the meantime, I hope you are having a happy holiday season!

There are so many Elfember things to do on Mara that it feels pretty hectic. I'm balancing it out by watching Dark. Haha. There are so many characters that I kept getting confused about who was who. I had to write notes for myself to refer to during the show. Even then, I also read recaps for each episode to make sure I understood everything. It's strenuous! But by the end of season 1, I knew who everyone was, their occupations, relationships, etc. I love a good time travel series and this one is highly regarded for its writing. So far I'm finding it pretty intriguing. I'm just starting season 2.

In other news, two dogs ran into the front yard the other day and almost killed our gentle patriarch. I ran outside just in time to see one of the boxers take the rooster into his mouth and I screamed bloody murder. Luckily, the dogs are cowardly and let him go as they made their escape down the driveway. Me chasing them and screaming my head off. I had no time to put on shoes or anything. My mom heard the screaming and ran out with the stun baton and crackled it as she followed them up the street. Haha. I went back to check on our rooster and though he had lost a lot of feathers, he was okay. Sometimes they go into shock and die, but he seemed none the worse for wear.

Also, in animal news, the pigs have mites. Ugh. They got diatomaceous earth spread in their sleeping area and I've been rubbing two of the pigs with castor oil and descending upon them with tweezers every time I catch them laying still to pick off anything I see. The girl is too wild for me to groom, but I have a squeeze bottle of diatomaceous to powder her when I can get close, which is just the first few seconds after I set down her feed bowl. She huffs loudly and darts away, then creeps back suspiciously. I've been feeding her for months, you'd think she would be tamer. -_-

Hope your fur babies are doing well. And I hope New Year's Eve isn't too stressful for them. Several of our neighbors set off a ton of fireworks and throughout the years, our dogs had an awful time. Buddy's first fireworks were pretty bad and he was inconsolable. I think the three pigs will be fine holed up under the house together this year, though.

OMG it's 2026! We had the least amount of fireworks go off in the history of the neighborhood. On one hand, I missed the show, on the other hand, it was nice to not have excessive noise and sulfur hanging heavily in the air. The animals were fine and that's the important thing. I hope your dogs fared well.

I had to drop Dark. The writing got really convoluted and with all the characters being unlikable anyway, it was not enjoyable. And then I finished Stranger Things and hated the finale. It was the laziest writing ever. And then the Duffer brothers had such terrible answers in interviews that I was starting to judge them as undeserving of success. So I jumped right into Pluribus and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I got the Puny Pyramid Treasure Map (finally) and now I'm stuck on getting the Bootleg Pyramid Treasure Map. Ha. I'm not even thinking about the 30 missing swim wear I need for Lowlywood goals.

A lot has happened. I haven't had time to play much. Life is hectic. And tomorrow the vet is coming to put one of my pigs to sleep. My pig is missing a foot and it's been a challenge for the last year and five months. It's a miracle that he's lasted this long and his quality of life has greatly diminished in the last two weeks. It's heartbreaking. At the same time it's a huge relief that he won't be suffering anymore. I will always question myself no matter what decision is made and no matter when the decision is made. I hope you are faring better than I in this crazy year of the Fire Horse.
