What's a Boo Buddy?

First of all... thank you for volunteering! 🦖

Boo Buddies are here to help our New Bees feel welcome during our upcoming anniversary recruitment. Joining a new club can be a little intimidating, so we thought it'd be fun if every New Bee had a friendly face they could reach out to.

You don't need to be an expert at Marapets or Boo Crew! You just need to be yourself!

* Boo Buddies are not Boo Crew staff members!

👻 So... what do I actually do?

Honestly? Just be friendly!

🐝 When you receive your New Bee assignment(s), send them a quick MM introducing yourself. Let them know you're their Boo Buddy and that you're happy to answer questions or point them in the right direction.
🐝 If you see them around Club Chat, say hi!
🐝 If they're nervous about joining conversations, encourage them.
🐝 If you see a Fashion Show, Teasday, or another event coming up, let them know! Sometimes all someone needs is a little invitation.

The goal isn't to overwhelm them with information; it's simply to make sure they know someone is happy they're here.

🐝 How many New Bees will I have?

That depends on how many volunteers and new members we end up with!

Some Boo Buddies might have one New Bee, while others may have a few more. We'll do our best to keep things balanced so everyone has someone looking out for them.

🤷‍♀️ What if I don't know the answer?

No worries!

Nobody expects you to know everything. If a New Bee asks something you're unsure about, just point them toward a member of staff. We're always happy to help.

🚫 A few things we don't expect

Being a Boo Buddy shouldn't feel like work.

So...

🐝 You don't need to be online every day.
🐝 You don't need to send gifts, please don't send gifts.
🐝 You aren't responsible if someone becomes inactive.
🐝 And if real life gets busy, that's completely okay.

Real life always comes first.

📅 How long am I a Boo Buddy?

The program will run throughout September during our Anniversary Recruitment.

After that, your official Boo Buddy duties are complete... although we certainly won't stop you from making a new friend. 🦖

🌟 What makes a great Boo Buddy?

The best Boo Buddies aren't necessarily the ones who know everything about Marapets.

They're the ones who make someone smile.

🐝 Bee welcoming.
🐝 Bee encouraging.
🐝 Bee patient.
🐝 Bee yourself.
