Ode to the Easter Bunny

In the moonlit garden, late at night, An evil bunny plots his fright. He ties your shoelaces in a knot, And fills your teacup with carrot rot.

He paints your eggs with monster faces, And hides them in the strangest places. He chews your jellybeans in half, Then scurries off with a villain’s laugh.

He’d tiptoe around on Easter morn, Replacing your chocolate with painted corn. He hid the eggs up in tall trees. Then giggles as you search on your knees.

So beware this bunny, wild and free. He’s the prankster of your Easter spree!

How a creature cuddly can rhyme sweeter than honey

Her flow's lit, like dynamite ends

Longer lasting than trilobite eggs

Speaking of eggs, she's striping them and hiding them

Guiding you to them like it's Watership Down

There's nobody stronger in town

She's a holiday legend holding onto her crown

One fine Spring morn'
I walked a trail
I'd walked a time or three,

I came across
A tiny creature
Lazed beneath a tree.

I knew not what
I gazed upon,
His fur was white as clouds...

He yawned and stretched,
And stood up tall,
And then he spoke aloud:

"I am not who
You think I am!"
He did declare quite clear.

"I don't bring eggs,
I don't bring treats,
You will not find those here.

This time each year,
I come to town
To cure your winter blues.

I bring the chaos
And the fun,
For what I bring are Boos!

Boos are quite
Peculiar things,
They're funny and they're wise.

And every week,
They spill the tea
With doughnuts on their eyes!

So every year,
Be on the watch
When Spring comes warm and sunny...

You just might catch
Me with my Boos,
For I am the Boo Bunny!"

Another year, another day,

Bugged by this bunny to come and play.

A hop, a twirl, basket in tow,

Candies and treats all lined in a row.

“You darn rabbit! Go away!” I screamed.

This candy-carrying bunny grinned and beamed.

I yelled “Shoo! Begone! You damned RAT!”

So the Easter Bunny rushed in to beat me with a bat.
