I'd super super recommend getting the missing learnable giftbox (from account upgrades) if you want to do collections of any kind but I know that's expensive when you start out. Haunt the DVD shop - it restocks on the 0 and 5 minutes. If you check it regularly at these times, you will catch some DVDs in stock eventually!
Also keep an eye on the game of the day which often has dvds as a reward. Play each game 3 times a day to win 3 bonus items from that game
