This is a supply and demand economy on this site. For those of you who apparently do not understand what that means, it means that the price people are willing to pay, is the price that people are going to charge.

I am writing this because I am tired of trying to explain myself over and over again. "Why won't you sell me this for half as much" Frequently because I PAID more for that item than that, also because I can sell the item to someone else for the price I asked for in the first place. I'm not saying I'm not a wheeler and dealer, I'm always up for an interesting trade, but I don't make discounts on pure, if I ask for a specific amount, I won't take less and I don't have to.

"But the price is too high, and I want it now!!" Of course the price is high, EVERYONE wants these items now. When clothes first came out I made millions restocking them, now I would be lucky to break even most of the time. When the demand is high, price is high, and me putting my entire collection on the market for half price would only lower the price for a moment before deal seekers bought me out and the market restablized.

"But your prices in particular are unreasonable." Really now??? How did you find me? The shop search's lowest price you say? Enough said I think.

If you want something I have, save up until you have the price I want for it, or find out what items I want, and see if we can trade. I am not a monster, but I am not your friend either (unless I actually am, and then this isn't aimed at you LOL)

Repost of earlier opinion so it doesn't get lost (it's never slipping off the page now that Jay has left the site due to concerns similar to the below mentioned

---------------------------------------------------

If you have an opinion, post it on your blog???? Okay Ian, here's my opinion, ^opinion omitted because I thought it might be "rude"^. I thought the beauty and wonder of your creation would mean that you would be an evolved person interested in creating a fascinating community, I find I was wrong.

*Also, I've said it a million times, this site was created for me and Laimay and we'll run it the way we want to.*

-Well I earn my money for me, and I guess I'll spend it the way I want to and no longer monitarily support your site. This is a terrible statement to make, and I am insulted.

*Why? Because thats the only way we still have *ANY* fun out of doing it, because its not a fun job listening to people whine about everything.*

- Really Ian, there are fun jobs, you point those out to me and I'll hop right on it. My job isn't fun IT'S WORK, hard work, and we weren't whining and the fact that you used that word on that board was terrible.

*The "freedom of speech" thingy that people like to use non-stop is useless on this site. You can't hide behind that when you are rude to someone calling it an "opinion" and your "human rights" etc. Its a UK site and I'm pretty sure thats only in the US constitution... and even then it doesn't give to the right to attack people for no reason. On this site you follow the site rules.*

-FREEDOM OF SPEECH THINGY!!!!!!!!!!!! WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT WHAT THE HECK!!!!! One, I was trying not to be rude, and I tried very hard not to attack anyone except in defence... apparently unlike alot of others who went there at first. And I don't remember saying it's a constitutional right.... actually Jay says it better than I could, boy that man sure is eloquent, so I'll post it again here.

"Sorry, Ian, but to a lot of us the "freedom of speech" idea isn't some kind of mask we hide behind in order to validate our points. A lot of us aren't rude and raise points of concern with the utmost care to who we're going to offend, so I think it's unfair that you choose only to address the negativity. You say that you and Laimay created the site for yourselves and that you're going to run it in whatever fashion you like. I'm sorry, but as the owner of the site I think that you do have the responsibility to listen to every legitimate concern someone raises, especially if you're soliciting monetary donations through upgrades. Maybe you're not legally obligated to do so, but as a moral person I think that it's your duty to at least acknowledge them. I'm not saying people don't whine and I'm sure it's annoying, but there are people offering suggestions that could very well benefit the site. I'd like to know if you really are on a salary. If you are, then I'm sure you understand that not all jobs are fun, but when money's involved you have no choice but to perform your duty. Please, please, please don't dismiss all of what's been posted by these people as simply bickering. Just take what we have to say to heart. I'll put my neck on the line and bet everything that no one who has posted is out to annoy or harm you in any way. Don't get all defensive. If we really hated the site and the job you were doing, we wouldn't even bother posting."

-Darn Right Jay, thank you for saying it better than I ever could

*(Jay)"I'd like to know if you really are on a salary."

How about mind your own business?*

-How about you not be mean, he was simply trying to establish that if you are being reguarly paid for your work, then you are being reguarly paid by us, to provide a service for us. A service I'm no longer truly sure I wish for.

*This site is mine and Laimays and you are a guest here. I don't invite myself into your house and ask you how much you earn on your job.. which is technically the same thing.*

-Really, I got an invite to join your site on google, which tecnically brings you and laimay into my house, I certainly can't get everything you said out of my mind. If it's private, you should stop advertising outside of this site. And he didn't ask how much you made, simply whether you were being paid. Read it again, or maybe for the first time.

*Wow what a way to celebrate 3 years of hard work on this site. I think I need another vacation *

-Agreed

*(Jay)"It's more like you walking into a hotel and asking about financial statistics before investing in it."

No, its more like you walking into a free library and using their toilet for free, making a mess and then asking how much the cleaner of the toilet earns to clean up your mess*

-I'm not even going to touch this one Ian

"Until the day you do decide to sell the site, you're still obligated to acknowledge the concerns of the members. Am I completely out of line in suggesting that you do so with an optimistic outlook, seeing it as people trying to help you instead of attack you? I understand that you do get your share of completely uncalled for harassment, but a lot of it is legitimate concern too."

-Thanks jay, I couldn't have responded to that so well if I'd been online

*I dont see it that way. I see it that you are p'd off cos I forgot to retire the account upgrades while I was on vacation. The ones your waiting to sell at a huge profit*

-Umm, acutally, it says specifically in his blog that that wasn't what he was about... sigh, I am soooo disillusioned.

(Ian about Jay)
*Hes saying he has a right to know what I earn because hes investing his money in this site. When in fact hes never bought an Account Upgrade and is playing for free, making a mess of the forums.

I was making a point, just like he was, that its none of anyones business. *

-If you don't appologize to Jay for saying he makes a mess of the forums, I will leave, I am so not kidding. He asked whether the site was paying you, not the amount of money you're making.

*I don't take anyone for granted and I'm not accusing anyone of anything. *

-oh really, I refer everyone reading this to the above

*We're 3 years old. Thats nothing, so when people say its been delayed for too long for new stuff, I don't take it seriously because the sites such a baby, for a few features to be a few weeks/months delayed when theres other things happening is ok, because it'll get done eventually.

If you can't cope with that, I'm sorry but you are at the wrong place because that is and has always been Marapets.*

-Apparently I was wrong, I appologize to everyone I ever said Ian would rather have us voice our opinions than have us leave, I was so wrong And I don't want to be here anymore.

*Where as to me its like these topics are created because people have paid to be in this adult forum and a lot of them think they have the right to use this forum to demand things from staff and give me ideas and cause arguments so they can quote me or staff later when it suits them. Thats how it seems to be.

Give it a few weeks or months and people will be quoting me on this topic when they have a point about something later *

-Give it a day Ian, it only took me a few hours to quote what you said since I believe your customers have a right to see how their treated and viewed by the management of the establishment their patronizing. And I don't remember any demands being made by any of us.

*"If you have an opinion to express, please use your Journal as it often leads to arguments."

I'm not going to keep arguing because I get a new one of these every few days and its one of the reasons I delay things even more.*

-Thanks for at least admitting that all you were doing was arguing, you were highly confrontational, and every statement was laced with implied insults; while at least at the beginning we were trying to offer suggestions and alternatives that might leave you with less work, and less stress, and less complaints. Serves us right for trying to be helpful contributing members even if that doesn't involve saying nothing but how great you are.

Happy Anniversery.

-Disclaimer, I will not bash people for sending MMs that disagree with me but if you flame me, I flame back. I'm giving myself a bit of time before I decide whether or not having my beliefs trampled over by the creator of this site is reason enough for me to lose contact with most of the friends I have made here.

I also read through this twice more to make sure there was no name calling or rudeness, and that I didn't break forum rules, if this is taken down by anyoe but me, I will leave, I will never come back.
