I thought that I'd get another pet, created by myself, and portal it until it changed into something good, then trade it!
I came up with the name: Orange_Smartie and made her a red Gonk.
Heres a blog of how she gets on in the portal.

Day 5: Changed colour to blue (again)
Day 6: Gained 1 strength stat
Day 7: Nothing happened
Day 8: Changed colour to yellow
Day 9: Gained 1 speed stat
Day 10: Gained 1 speed stat
Day 11: Nothing happened
Day 12: Gained 1 defence stat
Day 13: Nothing happened
Day 14: Nothing happened
Day 15: Gained 1 defence stat
Day 16: Changed colour to blue
