Hello guys! Yes. You read that right. Is Marapets is only for the rich players? I've been playing this game for like 6(or 7) years now and the game back then is so easy. All of the items are fairly priced, the quests are easy to do for the new players and the rewards was fair and overall the game is fun and feels not like a chore. But when I came back a week ago (I forgot my last account for I made a new one) the game has changed for the good and the bad. For the good because the site design is more organized but the player economy? Not so much. I played a lot of quests in these past couple of days and I observed that the items are CRAZY EXPENSIVE, like EXPENSIVE THE NEW PLAYERS CANT AFFORD. Also the flash games, after 30 days, you can't get MP off them so what's the point of having games? As if the rewards on the Game Redemption Center is enough to buy clothes, take care of your pet/s and other things that you need to buy in order for you to have like a full experience in this site.

Is this like a tactic of the Marapets staff for forcing the account upgrades? What do you think? Leave some comments and let's have a healthy discussion!

(And also correct me if I put some wrong information up there. I will deeply appreciate it)

  • Sassy 23 Sassybut you havent been around for AWHILE so you probably had to relearn the game again anyway. Newbies get help by us older players, they are not typically left to their own devices. We offer them our wisdom how on how to make mp, some of us even offer them items and mp to help them start out. The mara community here is awesome. Typically we dont just let someone sink or swim on their own.
  • Kae 0 KaeWhat do you suggest then? honestly if you put your mind to it, and quest only for profitable quests, do all your dalies, and invest then you'll be fine. you act like this is something like gaia where the currency there is in the billions and trillions
  • HannahHorvath 1 HannahHorvathLOL. That's what I'm saying. We need to change before this site is like GAIA, where everything is crazy expensive.
  • Kae 0 Kaeit's never going to get like gaia everything is moderately priced. the only thing I can suggest for chests is for the max items to be lowered to 2 OR having the price limit at something like 12k instead of 15k per item.
  • Sassy 23 SassyIt all boils down to how much currency is around. If everyone has 10 mill + then items would need to inflate in price to compensate for for all the mp floating around. The more there is around the less it is really 'worth' Mara is not for the weak, if you want handouts, this isnt the place to be. You have to work for what you want WHICH IS GOOD.
  • Fasoro 27 FasoroHonestly, I don't think it's for "rich" people. Take me, for instance. Just yesterday, I had 20k MP on me. Only 20k! (cause I spent everything else on map instructions) However, I used that to restock from fairly easy stores, such as soft drinks, halloween treats, traps, etc. This takes a whole bunch of patience, if you didn't know. Then, with around 5k mp left, I went and did some GOOD dailes, which earned me around 30k more. I did a whole bunch of secret santa quests, till it asked me for multiple 10K+ items; and my MP total went up to 200k. On to leprechaun quests, and earned around 75k RP. Sold that, and earned 600k MP. I did this over and over after my quests "ran out of time" for me to start again, and I eventually ended up with 2 million from that run, just from questing and restocking and questing again. Now, today, I have around 5 million. And I didn't even have to pay a single cent~! And as for the items that are fairly expensive, that's been pretty normal. Not every quest will be easy and ask for cheap items. Or else everyone would resort to questing as their profit. You don't even know how many times I've spent 15K mp on a quest, and received around 2k mp in return. But it opens up a new chance for a new quest, which hopefully will be better than the last. And usually, in the end, the good earnings balance out the bad ones. Lastly, the only real time an item would go insanely high priced is when it's featured as the item of the week, or an item for the Greedy Fairy~!
  • 0 ThranduilionI don't believe it is. Of course the prices in players'shops are going to be higher than the price of something in store if it is harder to come by. It's how you make profit anywhere. And while the prices are slightly higher, it's because it's very easy to get mp on mara. Also, it's not like they inflate a lot, everyone knows the cheapest price will get the item sold the fastest, no one prices something outrageously high and expects someone to buy it, the truth of the matter is that the prices aren't inflated at all, they're fairly priced and drop quite quickly. The dailies can earn you a lot of money, and there's quite a few of them. I totally agree with the games not giving mp after a month because it's getting you started. After a month, you've been around long enough to find other, faster ways to earn mp. And finally I believe that marapets players help new players. Not only do they give tips, they something help them get started and offer their help anytime it's needed. Have you visited the new players forum? Help if offered to anyone who needs it. With everything offered, if one is to use the resources before them, it's not hard to climb up.
  • Pumpkin 54 PumpkinIf you can afford to buy account upgrades, yes the game will be easier for you, but isn't that any game? When I could afford to buy account upgrades mara was much easier for me but, now I have bills so I can no longer buy them. Selling has become harder because of the user base not being as big so prices tend to drop because people want to sell stuff in a hurry and they drop the price to make it sell faster. Also on the other hand there is not as much of certain items in circulation due to a smaller user base which makes the price higher then it would be if it was more users on mara. If you want to make money on mara it takes a little bit of work if you cannot afford account upgrades. I am rather lazy when it comes to mara because by the time I get I am already exhausted from real life I don't feel like questing and such. I would say mara is not for the lazy, because mp is not going to be just handed to you like it is nothing. that would make the value of marapoints go down and prices go up. If you are "rich" mara is much easier for you, but you do not have to be "rich" in real life to to be rich on mara

  • Legend 0 LegendI will agree with you even though I have 25 million mps now and I am playing Marapets for 7 years. The worth of items mostly and yes mostly in SS are 15k or 20k for items asked by quest. This was always not like this and economy is in bad shape. I have to wait to complete more quests and not only makeup or treats are expensive but a variety of items. That being said this site is still not for the rich only but for all as you can make a million with 0 mps too as some challenges do it with getting mps from dailies and questing cleverly.
  • Cat 14 CatI completely disagree (on a phone so this will be short) 😆 I started Marapets nearly 9 months ago and when I started there were so many friendly people to help me about and after only 9 months I'm racing someone to 1 billion MP! I feel that Marapets just depends on how much dedication you decide to put into it. I started in the summer so I restocked most of the day but now it's the school year so I can't be on as much. Other than restocking there's games, quests, missions, auction sniping, and usually the most profitable, reselling. I've been able to do this without buying a single AU. Those who do buy AU though help drive the economy here. Everybody wants AU because it can help in a lot of things like dailies, missions, pets, collections, etc.
  • Kayarii 23 KayariiI completely agree. Everything on this site is expensive. My sister said years ago it was super easy back then. Now, everyone prices everything so high. I'll be honest, I paid alot of money on this site to get where I am. I hate to say it but everyone is just sucking up. I love Marapets, I do. I go on it everyday just about, but something has changed about it. It's almost everything you get you have to pay real money because everything costs alot. But, I still pay and Marapets grabs me in and I pay again. Sigh. Lol
  • Kayarii 23 KayariiNew players, and I am talking about that they haven't quit, that they've stumbled upon this site for the very first time, do NOT stay because it is too expensive. It is too scary for them. And so no wonder the player base has gone down. Even though I only started playing only 2 years ago, AU was only 600K. Now it is 900? Ridiculous. It is all about AU. That's the truth.
  • HannahHorvath 1 HannahHorvathI get you Kayarii. It's all about the money now.
  • Cat 14 CatIt's not though. You've decided to spend AU because you don't want to take the time to learn how to earn MP easily and do that. Reselling is so easy and on a good day you might earn 25 mil+. AUs have inflated because of the Decadal AUs and because their popularity. Would you rather get 900k or 600k every time you purchase an AU?
  • Cat 14 CatSome people are so ignorant to reselling and restocking so they just sit here complaining. It takes time!
  • sane 75 saneI agree with Sassy below, and also with Cat in that many are ignorant to reselling and restocking or questing so they just sit here complaining If you take a look at my friend Emily2583, she started anew from scratch completely in Dec or Jan or something, look how much progress she has made! "Is this like a tactic of the Marapets staff for forcing the account upgrades?" the only person whom decides that is Ian haha, can't blame him for loving money bc I love money too
  • sane 75 saneI've been on here since '07 though this is a relatively new account, I never pay for AUs I find that there are many things I can do to earn MP, everything is more 'expensive' now but everything only supposedly costs 'more' because there's so much currency around. It's actually quite easy to earn MP, with some effort. everyone works hard for what they have
