The sky was filled with cylinder plastic-like tubes that connected each building to another. The complex network was control by a motherboard hidden somewhere in the smoke, below all the bustle and commotion of the upper levels of the city. Each tube was designed to make sure that each citizen reached their destination through the safest route- often times not being the quickest, and upon reaching one???s destination they were lightly lowered onto the platform below them. Each platform had one exit tube and one entrance tube, and each platform was crowded by hustlers trying to sell the latest ???gadget??? or the newest ???modified??? modification.

Standing in front of a make-shaft booth- something that wasn???t so common in the seemingly perfect world- was a slender little figure, definitely out of its element. It was impossible to tell the gender of a person without checking their identification card. The petite figure raised a bony hand, placing the free one over its mouth as it coughed. It nodded vigorously in response to what it had been asked, and then shoved the coin-like chip back into its pocket. Bright yellow eyes peered up as the orange object was handed over the counter. With such soft features- a smooth forehead, firm cheekbones, an unblemished face and a pleading look of hope, it was impossible to deny that this was a young girl.

The owner of the booth held out a dirty black machine, waiting for the girl to respond. She dug in her pockets, searching furiously for something that obviously was not there. She looked back at the man, almost begging for forgiveness. He sighed and placed his device back onto the hook, and waved the girl off. Now, how easy was it to fool a man, and a crook at that, if all he needed to see was a pretty face, the girl thought. A thin smirk teased her face, and before she could safely escape, her body betrayed her, and she burst into a fit of laughter that was heard above all the commotion that was present. The man behind the counter instantly pulled a pistol from his side, and pointed it at the spot where the girl had been, but she was already gone. ???Damnit!??? He mumbled.

The girl chuckled as she pressed the orange object to her mouth, taking a bite. She chewed with satisfaction; another plan had gone off without a problem. Sure, it was only a small win- stealing fruit was child???s play. She examined her dirty dress and fingers. Glancing into a window, she shivered as she saw her reflection. Her long golden locks bounced on her shoulders, as she dug into her pocket. Between her fingers she revealed a light black capsule that read in tiny letters on the side ???undo???. She popped the pill into her mouth, followed by a huge bite from the orange, and watched as her body transformed back into its original self.

What replaced the young helpless girl was a not so older woman. Clearly she was far more mature than her former appearance. Her golden locks were replaced by a straight hairdo. Shoulder length strawberry strands dangled through the air. The piercing yellow eyes were replaced with sharp icy lavender eyes- an expensive modification. The structure of her face remained the same. She grew about 3 feet, leaving her no taller than the medium height white haired girl that stood next to her looking into the window as well. She could only imagine what the people on the other side of the glass were thinking.

She let the orange drop at her feet, as she dusted off her tan khakis. She pulled the edges of her deeply V-cut vest together trying to be modest. And then remembered that if she wanted to be modest she would have changed to a different clothes modification, but how was she to know that the female in the early 8000???s had reverted to such exposed clothing. Next time, she would be sure to preview her choices. She turned sideways glancing at her slim figure. Something about watching her body grow up had made her appreciate who she was. She pressed her lips together, and smiled. Satisfied with what she saw, she turned around and used the window for support. Whoever or whatever was on the other side that had watched her grow up could now stare at the bottom of her shoe. She raised one foot and planted it on the window, using it as a shield for her back side. They weren???t getting anymore free shows from her.

She paused to survey her surroundings. Today had already started off so dull. She needed something to occupy herself, something that would give her a rush of adrenaline. ???Miss!??? She turned her head to look at who was being called. ???Miss! What are you doing???? A bulky man grabbed her arm. She resisted the urge to hit him in throat, and instead looked into his bewildered eyes. What had gotten him into such frenzy? ???You can???t stand there. That???s a government building! You are too close. You and her,??? he pointed to the girl that was now relaxing against the window just like she had been.

???What you can???t speak???? He eyed her suspiciously. ???Let me see your IC.??? He reached into his right pocket and pulled out a device that looked exactly like the device the man at the rundown booth had had.

She reached into her pocket, this time there was no need to search or pretend. Her fingers instantly grasped around a plastic-glass mixture of a card. She held the thick card in front of her, picture facing him. ???Wow, you got a lot of modifications on. You must do something important to be able to afford something like that.??? The girl co.cked her head to the left, boredom plagued her face.

The man held the device against the card perfectly still, until it read the information on the card. ???You got yourself quite a rap sheet, Charleston.??? He pushed the down button to scroll through the information. ???Is that even a girl???s name? Are you posing as a girl???? He paused as the dark green letters flashed ???female??? across the device screen. ???Hmm,??? he looked at her again. ???Get to moving. You seem to have been keeping your nose pretty clean since the last bust. Run along. Get gone!??? He demanded. Charleston rolled her eyes, and slowly began to walk in the same directions that she had just came from.

Always good.. minor or not.

I personally, am thinking about giving the piece a read over, and then making a RP about it, cause I love this character, she is my favorite.

I could poke at a few flaws, but they are so minor that it would be a stupid waste of time.
