One sunny, spring afternoon while I was sitting on the couch reading a book, when the phone rang. I quickly got up and answered it. It was our realtor; she had called to tell that she had found a perfect home for us. It was a large farmhouse, that came with all of its livestock, no extra cost.
When I got off the phone, I rushed upstairs and told my wife. We were both very excited, so we quickly grabbed our three-year-old daughter and eight-year-old son, got into our Dodge Grand Caravan, and quickly, but carefully, drove away to see the house.
As we were driving down a quiet country road, we passed many farms and cornfields.
The kids had watched The Princess and the Frog three times already. I could almost recite all of the characters lines. The car ride seemed to take forever, but we finally made it. We drove down a long, smooth driveway and came to a massive farmhouse. Both kids looked out the car windows in awe, as they had never seen a house so big before. I parked the car under the shade of a large maple tree and let the kids out. A few moments later the realtor pulled up. The kids were very excited to hear her ask if we were ready for the tour.
The yard was filled with only a few tall trees. Most were small and recently planted. A lot were oak and maple, but there were a few cherry and apple trees. The apple and cherry trees blossoms were in full bloom. The wind blew the petals
making it look like it was snowing. There were also many lovely lilac bushes and honey suckle around the yard. You could smell their wonderful fragrances from at least a mile away. The grass was freshly cut and wet from dew. The smell of the freshly cut grass was very refreshing.
First the realtor showed us to a large, glimmering pond. There were many different colored koi, frogs and tadpoles living in the wet habitat. On the left side of the pond was an old, captivating oak tree. On one of its long, sturdy branches sat a large, newly built tree house. Inside was a very small couch, flat screen television and a mini-fridge. Right in front of the porch was a large flower garden full of radiant, bright red roses, delightful daisies, petite tulips and dozens of brilliant, purple violets. You could also smell their remarkable fragrances from miles away.
The farmhouse had two porches: one in the front of the house, and one in back. The front porch was made of dark brown painted wood, about a foot off the ground. On the porch was a large, expensive looking rug, a small bench and a small coffee table. The porch had no railings, but it did have four massive pillars that stretched from the floor of the porch, up to the roof.
The front door was large. It was white, and had a window above it shaped as half a circle, and a rectangular window on the right, which was as tall as the door.
The house had siding as white as snow, there wasn???t a spec of dirt on it. It had eight
shining, medium sized windows that were so clean that it looked like they weren???t even there! On each window was a charming flower box filled with lovely bleeding hearts and small ferns.
The roof was black and in very good shape. Didn???t seem to need any repairs. It also had a tall, red-bricked chimney, which went up the right side of the house. The back porch was made of cement. On the porch was an charming picnic table with a gorgeous lace tablecloth laid on top of it and freshly picked violets sitting in an antique, stain glass vase on the table. Around the back porch was a small, white picket fence, with a gate that opened up to a large in-ground pool. The pool had a big waterslide and was crystal clear with no dents in the liner.
On another part of the property was a good-sized barn and a large, wide open pasture. The outside of the barn was white, with a large barn door. Inside were six large stalls and one small tool area. In the first stall was a large, brown draft horse, which would???ve been perfect to help with farming and other things that needed to be done around the farm. In the second stall was an adorable, appaloosa filly. My kids loved her. She was white with brown speckles spread out across her body, almost as if someone had spilled a bucket of paint on her. In the third stall was a well postured, prize winning Tennessee walking horse. He had a chestnut brown body, and a jet black mane and tail. He stood posed with pride, as if he knew how special he was. In the fourth and fifth stall were six lovable pygmy goats, prancing around like little reindeer. The last stall was very dirty, and the smelliest of all. Lying down, in it???s own filth, was a large, fat pig.
The pasture was about one acre long. It was mostly tall grass, with a few large hay barrels. There was a small gleaming pond in the top right corner. We were told
that a male and female duck live there with seven ducklings. The kids were quite let down because they couldn???t see them.
Far back on the property was also a small, luminous creek. Surrounded by many large trees. You could hear birds singing, crickets chirping and the water rushing down the creek. It was so peaceful that I probably could have lied down and taken a nap right then.
As I was looking down into the water, I caught a strange reflection of something in the corner of my eye. I looked up, and was surprised to see a beautiful doe and her young fawn getting a drink from the creek about ten feet from where we were standing.
Both deer looked up and saw us, but to my surprise, they did not run away. They stoodt here for about twenty seconds and just looked at us, then slowly walked back into some bushes and disappeared.
After that, we all started walking back to the driveway. The kids were very disappointed that we had to leave so soon. The realtor asked what we had thought of the house, and we replied saying that we absolutely adored the house and wanted to put in an offer on it. The kids were so happy that they started hopping around like little jumping beans.

This is the story of a sixteen-year-old boy named John, and his father Mike. Mike is a marine biologist. They have both lived on a private island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean since John was first born.

As John sat in a deep, dark, damp hole with old roots and bones sticking out of its walls, sweat ran down his dirt-covered forehead. He was terrified of when the lofty, dreadful man would return. He started to think of a way out of the horrid place he was thrown into, when a long rope ladder quickly flung down into the hole. Stunned, he fell backwards onto the rough, dirt floor. He quickly stood up and took hold of the ladder. ???This is my only chance of getting out of here,??? he thought. So he slowly started making his way up the ladder, not knowing what he???d see when he reached the top. John was almost up the ladder when two delicate hands reached down and grasped his right arm, pulling him up onto the ledge of the hole.

A few days earlier???

On a bright summer morning, like any of the other beautiful mornings on the island, Johns father went out on his motor boat in the ocean to do some research on a new species of squid he had discovered earlier that week. After his father had gone, John decided to go for a walk. As John slowly walked out of his house, he made his way for a path his father had made in one of the islands forests.
On each side of the forest was a small creek, brightly colored tropical flowers, large birch trees and many different kinds of shrubs and leafy plants. Every once in a while, John would spot a parrot or two, and even a few chimpanzees while walking down the path.
After about an hour of walking, he made it out of the forest to a part of the island he hadn???t been before. It was a small, rocky beach. Waves were crashing against the rocky shore, seagulls diving down to the water to catch their lunch, and a few seals lying on large brown rocks in the hot sun.
John looked around for a moment, and then he spotted a small sailboat tied to a palm tree that was close to the water. He didn???t see the owner around, so he decided to go check out the boat. Inside, he only found a few old blankets and some other needed excessories for sailing. He thought it wasn???t anything to worry about so he decided to head back home.
As John was walking back down the path, he had heard a strange noise in the bushes. Scared, he quickly started running. He heard a gunshot close behind him. John quickly ran off the trail to hide. As he was maneuvering through trees, not paying attention, his head slammed into a large branch and he passed out.
DUN DUN DUN!!
