You Know You're From Canada/Saskatchewan When...

-You can't understand why those American television networks never settle on a schedule, instead of shifting all their programs back and forth an hour every spring and fall.
-Every year you believe this will be the year for the Riders, and are surprised when it isn???t
-Americans give you weird looks because the name of your province and (or) town sounds funny.
-You???ve been run off the road by or had a close encounter with farm equipment
-Driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled in with snow
-You have at least as many vehicles as people in your family
-Directions to your house include "turn off the paved road."
-Canadian Tire on any Saturday is busier than the toy stores at Christmas.
-You???ve gone trick-or-treating in a blizzard
-You find -20 C a little chilly
-The trunk of your car doubles as a freezer
-Shoveling the driveway constitutes a great upper body workout.
*If you know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter and road construction.
*If someone in a Home Depot store offers you assistance and they don't work there.
*If you measure distance in hours
*If you have switched from "heat" to "air conditioning" and back again in the same day
*If your idea of a traffic jam is ten cars waiting to pass a tractor and combine crew on the highway.
*If your school classes were cancelled because of cold, but only when it was -40 or colder
*If you get a little claustrophobic when you're in a "big city" like Saskatoon and their traffic is "just awful, you wouldn't believe it".
You go down south people ask you if you sleep in igloos or ride dog-sleds to work/school.
You keep Canadian Tire money in your kitchen drawers.
Everything is labeled in English and French
You get excited whenever an American television show mentions Canada.
You know the French equivalents of ???free???, ???prize??? and ???no sugar added???, thanks to your extensive education in bilingual cereal packaging.
You think -10 C is mild weather.
You know the ingredients for poutine.
You know that a pike is a type of fish, not part of a highway
You drive on a highway, not a freeway
Someone accidently stepped on your foot. You apologize.
You know what a touque is.
You were/are in grade twelve not twelfth grade.
You actually get these jokes.
You know what a parka is.
Someone calls your house and it???s the wrong number, YOU apologize for NOT being the person they ask for
We can bring duotangs to school because we have them.
You get mad at the people on American television for complaining its -1 outside.
You laugh when Americans think Canada is overseas.
You have to fly to the airport to fly out of the country
You know how to spell FAVOURITE, COLOUR???etc.
You recognize Wayne Gretzky without having to see his hockey jersey
You eat chocolate bars instead of candy bars.
You drink pop, not soda.
You know that health care is a right, not an expense.
You know what the plug at the front of the car is for

"Someone accidently stepped on your foot. You apologize."

Happened 3 times today, both of us apologized.

So much of this too true. And annoying.

Oh and a *Saskatoonie* here.

I do get excited when American shows mention Canada lol except maybe HIMYM. We are not all afraid of the dark lol neither was our 90's the 80's

lol I think I know around ten of these, maybe 15 XD

I live in Southern Ontario so -40 weather is fairly rare (but happens) and we get all seasons. But my brother lived in Saskatchewan for a year so I can relate to a few of those ones to. Nice list

Two of my favorite shows, Life with Derek and Naturally Sadie are both Canadian shows that quickly went off the air in the US. Guess the average American didn't like them. Luckily have them on DVD.
