Elger has taken the time off from doing quests during this holiday season. Instead, you can visit her with your pet dressed up for Halloween to go Trick or Treating for FREE once every 20 minutes - Poison Pets can visit once every 15 minutes!

All you need to take part is a pet wearing a Halloween, Poison, Mad Scientist, Nefarious, Bug, Skeleton, Ghost, Witch, Dark, Zombie, Wizard, Voodoo, Vampire, Goblin, Rotten, Midnight, Insideout, Gothic, Eleka, Killer, Headless, Mutant, Mummy, Werewolf, Nightmare, Monster or Devil costume. These prizes will retire when the Elger Trick or Treat ends November 7th.

Beelzebub has been added to Undying Woods. He has stolen all of the prizes, including hundreds of Account Upgrades Credit, from the Birthday events and closed down the Birthday Forum. From now until October 31st he will lurking around the site with Pot of Gold Giveaways, Forum Events and more! To make sure you keep up with him you can browse his topics or subscribe to his topics. A certain Halloween devil has been seen lurking around the site again. We all know how much Beelzebub loves Halloween. As usual Beelzebub has all sorts of Halloween goodies to give away to members who are getting into the Halloween spirit and have a halloween-themed character or profile.

You dont have to have a Halloween costume for your character, just use your imagination and dress your character in some appropriate clothes and makeup to make yourself look appropriately spooky - just be creative!

Although this is mostly a forums-based event, there will also be prizes rewarded randomly to members who are online and have something spooky about their profile, so you may still win something even if you dont have forum access.

A new Poison Account Upgrades has just been released. The main prize is 7 random pieces of the new Poison Pit Treasure Map. You will also receive a poison themed book, cd, dvd, gumball, stamp, minipet and costume.

The Posion Pit will be released after our Halloween events. It will be the first new feature, in the unreleased Poison Pit world in Marada. Completing this map will give you lifetime access to this new feature, which will be like the Operations Portal for items! More will be revealed soon.

The Olympics have been improved. They have new security codes that show up at random, the layout has improved and olympic game results are now processing much faster than before. If you enter your pets one at a time, the 'Enter' button will disappear if your pet cannot enter. If you have the 'Multiple Pet Olympics Giftbox', you will now have a countdown for when each pet can enter the Olympics again. Finally, there are new prizes on sale in the Olympic Redemption Shop.




We have fixed the problems some players were having with Flash Games.

MaraTalk has been improved. You now have your forum font and BBCodes are allowed. It is also no longer an iframe - it automatically updates with the newest posts without constant refreshing.

The Last Online status at the top of the 'Friends' page of profiles has been improved. It now shows accurate information as to when a player last logged on to Marapets.

The Iggy from the Olympics Redemption Shop is avaliable in these colours - including Breeze, Splatter and Native!




We have updated Pet Trades. The search has been improved, you can now browse by all pet species and colours that are currently up for trade.

Keno has been fixed. It now has new security codes and a 'Play Again' button at the end of each game.

Finally, we have made it easier to start a Battle. The start battle button is at the top and bottom of the battle page.

The limited edition Cartoon themed Account Upgrades will retire October 19th. This will be your last chance to get the Unnecessary Perfection Instructions from Account Upgrades as they will retire.

The Town Hall has been improved. Every time that you use a 'Username Certificate' you will now own your new username and your current username forever. You can then visit the Town Hall at any time and switch between your usernames for FREE once per hour. Every player can also change their username from lowercase to uppercase at any time for FREE too. Example, if you joined with a username 'mAraPets' you can go to the Town Hall and change it to 'marapets' or 'Marapets' for FREE. Players who use a 'Username Certificate' also have the option to show players their original username, all usernames or keep them all private. All usernames will show on the site search.



If you haven't already noticed, we have made over 500,000 Usernames available by removing some really old, dead accounts.

The Charms shop is now restocking 11 new items.




The Auctions have been improved. They are making good use of the new servers now and are running much faster and more reliable.

We have also completely recoded the Site Search. The new servers have allowed it to be much smarter and more powerful. When you search for items, members or pets it will show you the exact match at the top and all of the results containing your search below. Items now have the 'Price Check' feature, members show those who are online now at the top of the search and when you search for pets, it now shows the pet colour, species and owner.



The Pet High Scores and Greedy Fairy have been improved. Frozen accounts or banned pets will no longer show up and be awarded prizes.

We have successfully completed our Site Maintenance. As many of you may know, we own our own servers and have had them hosted in Los Angeles for over 8 years now. Just before our 10th Birthday events, one of our main database servers died. All of our servers were getting old, more unreliable and we running way past their shelf life! We have replaced all of our hardware and moved to Dallas, Texas. Marapets is now running on state of art computing cluster, with 80 x Intel Xeon E5 2.5GHz processors, 256GB of RAM, 10TB of high speed storage and 40GB/s infiband network. This will allow us to release a lot of features for Marapets that we couldn't before, it will stop any lag or glitches we had before and as you may have noticed, load Marapets blazingly fast!

We would like to thank you all for your patience while we completed the move. We had to backup, move, import, configure and test everything from the old servers to the new servers in those hours that we were down. Everything went amazingly well and the downtime is over.

We would like to give you all a heads up that Marapets will be Down for Maintenance within the next 48 hours - most likely sometime tomorrow October 3rd. We will give you plenty of warning and there is no need to do anything. As we mentioned at the start of the 10 Year birthday events, our servers were getting old and slowly unreliable. We have since ordered brand new hardware and have been busy setting it up. It will soon be time for us to close Marapets for a 6-12 hours while we move all data and test out the new system.

During this time, Marapets will show a 'Down for Maintenance' page with frequent updates. The new system will be much more reliable, faster and allow us to release a lot of new features and improvements to the site that the old hardware simply couldn't handle. We appreciate your patience and promise to keep you all updated. Once everything is back, we will return to normal news updates and finish the Birthday events, which was put on hold while we focused 100% of our attention on this.
